Exmouth is a premier UK big air destination, particularly during winter when southern low-pressure systems deliver 50-knot onshore winds. The defining feature is an extensive sandbar at low tide that shelters approximately 300 metres of perfectly flat water, enabling high-wind freestyle and kiteloop sessions. The seafront offers excellent kickers when wind comes from southwest, west, or southeast. The Duckpond provides premier flat-water big air during north to northwest wind, with the river alignment amplifying wind strength. Access is easiest from Exeter Airport (20 minutes) or Bristol (90 minutes). Cold water requires wetsuits. Westerly winds tend to gust and underperform forecasts. Limited non-water activities exist nearby.
